Great question - it's the Earth's vibrations that make them special... crystals/stones/gems take millions of years to form. There has to be just the right pressure, or gases or minerals or even water leaking in on pressure sites in order for crystals to form.
Crystals are the Earth's gift to us... it is up to us to listen and feel how different crystals affect us.
